Yahoo Local is a US based web service provider which is owned by Verizon Media. It has around 60,000 unique visitors on a monthly basis.
Following are the steps to add/claim your business listings on Yahoo local
1) Go to Yahoo business listing link & scan your business.
2) Verify your data & choose the type of listings.
3) (i) – If you select “Premium listing”, you will be directed by Yext
(ii) – If you select “Basic listings”, proceed to verify your data.
4) Verify your mail ID & set an account password.
5) Check your “Yahoo listing status”.
6) Select a verification method if you updated the status as “opt in”.
Step 1: Scan Your Business
Go to “ https://www.yext.com/pl/yahoo-listings/index.html “ and choose the kind of business. Fill in all the required credentials & click on Scan my listings. It scans your business across 40+ directories & displays the result.
Now, scroll down and click on the option “Fix all errors” on the top right side of the page.
Step 2: Choose the listing
Re-verify your data in the following page & type in the contact details to proceed to the next page. This gives you 2 options: (i) Premium Listing (ii) Basic Listing
Step 3 (i): If you select Premium Listings:
Select a plan depending on your requirements and budget. Once it’s done, you will be directed further by Yext and you can skip steps 4, 5, and 6.
Premium Listing allows adding Name, Phone Number, Address, Business Description, Special Offer in enhanced content, website, photos, Tracking number of impressions and clicks.
Step 3 (ii): If you select Basic Listing:
Below the premium plans list, click on “Claim your Basic Listing only on Yahoo here” and in the following page, once again verify your business details.
Click Place order after confirming the price which should be $0 for a basic listing.
Basic Listings only allows you to add Name, Phone Number, Address, and Listing Category.
Step 4: Verify mail & set password:
An auto-generated mail will be sent to the inbox where the user is prompted to create a password.
Try logging into Yext with the newly created credentials and look for Yahoo free basic listings.
Step 5: Check your “Yahoo Listing Status”:
After logging into the Yext homepage, we need to check if the business is verified. For that, click on the ‘Edit’ option in the right hand side of the window. If it shows “Opted in”, the listing has been verified and you can skip the next step.
Step 6: Opting in to the listing:
If the window shows “Opted out”, then modify it to “Opt in” and select “Opt in to this listing”.
This again leaves you with 2 verification methods:
- Phone call (Immediate verification)
- Document verification (upto 2 weeks)
Once you verify the listing using any of the above methods, it takes a maximum of 2 days for it to be reflected in the Yahoo Search Engine.
